This site is dedicated to the memory of Alan Murton Trotter.

Born in 1941 in Newcastle Upon Tyne he was a sea lover from very early on and at the age of 15 joined the Merchant Navy. He travelled the world for the next ten years and had lots of tales to tell from his days at sea. He then married and started a family and relished in his new role as Dad to Sonia and Ian. He was a keen runner and cyclist and in fact did an 18 mile bike ride two days before he died suddenly in his sleep on 14th july 2011. He was a nature lover and supported lots of different causes including being an avid supporter of RNLI. He was a cheeky chappie, with a magic personality and wonderful sense of humour. He was the heart and sole of the community where he lived on the canal and has left a big hole in all their lives. He was a fantastic Dad and good friend to many, he will be missed every day but will remain in our hearts forever. I have created this fund in memory of "Dad" and hope whatever we raise will benefit and help those in need just as he always tried to help others in his own unique way.
